If you are buying something online or just accepting certain terms of service online, it is advisable that you countercheck the information that you are giving out. You should only give your name and e-mail address. You should be wary of people who ask you about your birth date. It is amazing the amount of data that an individual can access without your knowledge by just using your birth date.
If you operate an online account ensure that you check your transactions regularly. Ensure that what is recorded is actually what you transacted. If not, it is advisable to inform your bank immediately about it. They might freeze your accounts as they do investigations.
